We arrive at the London palladium to one of those pinch me moments. Sir Elton John is on stage at his piano rehearsing, and singing his heart out to Tiny Dancer. He sounds incredible, and to be in an almost empty auditorium hearing him - save for the technical crew setting up - is a privilege. Next comes Your Song and it is clear that this now 78-year-old is musically firing on all cylinders.
