A 47-year-old woman from Shah Alam area in Danilimda, Ahmedabad, has become the city’s first fatality due to COVID-19. She was admitted to LG Hospital in Maninagar on May 23 for treatment and passed away during hospitalization. The deceased was reportedly suffering from hypertension and high blood pressure. Rajkot reported 7 new COVID-19 cases today, comprising 4 women and 3 men. Additionally, 2 patients have fully recovered, bringing the total number of cases in the city to 44.

On the morning of May 29, 2025, a large-scale demolition drive was carried out by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in the Akbarnagar locality of Bapunagar, located near Ajit Mill crossroads behind the S.P. office. The operation targeted over 400 makeshift and permanent illegal structures, which were demolished within just two hours using five JCBs and more than eight Hitachi machines. Following the demolition, AMC has initiated the removal of all debris from the site.
