He disclosed this during a thanksgiving service in honour of the Head of Service, Mininim Oseji, at the Church of God Mission in Asaba on Sunday. Oborevwori warned that altering birth records to extend years of service was not only dishonest but also damaging to the growth of the civil service.

[mc4wp_form id=33047] The Anambra State Police Command has arrested two suspects linked to the kidnap and murder of a female bank manager in Onitsha. The suspects, Monday Egbe, 32, and Kenneth Nnoga, 28, were tracked and arrested on May 28, in a neighbouring state. Anambra police spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga said on Sunday that the arrests followed a “diligent investigation” by command operatives.

The kidnappers had first abducted Clinton Utomudo on May 22 from his residence in Abraka, and subsequently demanded N200m for his release. The family, residing in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, had negotiated the ransom to N150m, N80m, N50m and then N10m.

The suspect, identified as Friday Obeta, was arrested by the Rapid Response Squad in Nnewi following credible intelligence. During the arrest, police recovered a motorcycle, a MASSOB-branded T-shirt, and an operational ID card belonging to the group.

He narrated how he was allegedly whisked off to an unknown destination in handcuffs, held for four days and forcefully extorted to the tune of N1.4m. Chibuike’s revelation followed recent concerns surrounding the operations and regulation of the local security outfit, largely comprised of Vigilantes.
