Schoettler, who is from the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, said she, her mother and sister anxiously followed the news and watched as the evacuation orders spread through their neighborhood. Eventually, they received the devastating news: the fire had reached their home.

Students across campus have been engaging with the referendum on all sides; the past two days have seen tabling events, widespread social media and texting campaigns and a Sumud Coalition banner drop out of Humanities Quadrangle on Wednesday. The pro-Palestine Sumud Coalition wrote the referendum ballot which includes three questions.

Ellie Park, Multimedia Managing Editor Voting on the Yale College Council’s divestment referendum begins today at 8 a.m. Students will have 96 hours to vote — until 8 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8. YCC leaders told the News that they plan to release the referendum results Sunday afternoon. The referendum ballot includes three separate questions written by the pro-Palestine Sumud Coalition.
