With the 2025 national budget targeting crude oil production of 2.062 million barrels per day (bpd) at $75 per barrel, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has stressed the urgent need to close the current gap in the country’s output. Transmission lines supplying electricity to parts of Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, have been targeted by vandals again, disrupting flow to Maitama, Wuse, and Garki and other parts of the city. The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) said the incident occurred in the early hours of Friday at the 132kv transmission line and underground cable transmitting bulk power to the 132kv Central Area transmission substation, Katampe, in the Central Area of Abuja.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has once again reported an attack on its transmission lines conveying bulk power to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). TCN’s general manager, Public Affairs, Mrs. Ndidi Mbah, said the incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, at its 132kv transmission line and underground cable transmitting bulk power to the 132kv Central Area transmission substation, Katampe, in the Central Area of Abuja.
