Malema addressed his party supporters where he labelled MK Party leader Jacob Zuma corrupt. Malema said the MK Party’s mission is to destroy the EFF. Several EFF members have abandoned the party to join the MK Party, including Floyd Shivambu, among others. Mngomezulu says Malema should have used proper platforms to address the issues he raised.

Three alleged illegal miners have been killed in a shootout with the police in Sabie, Mpumalanga. It is alleged that the zama zamas attacked police and other law enforcement officials who were conducting routine patrols around one of the mining shafts in the area. A police officer was shot in the leg during the incident. Provincial Police Spokesperson Donald Mdhluli says rifles and ammunition were recovered at the scene.
