The intestinal barrier is a key regulator of the homeostasis in the human body, acting both as a nutrient absorption site and a protective defense against pathogens [1, 2]. To better understand its physiopathology, there is a need to develop in vitro models that can recapitulate gut architectural complexity and multicellular population. Also, these models are needed to assist drug development processes.
