A Long Islander was selected in the Thursday night's NBA Draft. Ryan Dunn, of Freeport, was chosen by the Phoenix Suns with the 28th pick in the first round. Dunn, a forward, was a sophomore at the University of Virginia where he was on the All-ACC Honorable Mention list and the ACC All-Defensive Team in 2023-2024. "Congratulations to Ryan Dunn as he has officially been selected with the 28th overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft by the Phoenix Suns," Freeport Mayor Robert Kennedy said.
