Leinster sign All Black Jordie Barrett

Leinster have announced the signing of New Zealand utility back Jordie Barrett, who will join the club following the autumn internationals. Barrett has 57 All Black caps and will join the province until the end of the 2024/25 season. The 27-year-old Hurricanes player, along with All Black international brothers Beauden and Scott, lived in Ireland for two years from 1999 when their father took over a farm lease in Co Meath.
Hill's Crucible dream ended by Selt

Aaron Hill's bid to reach the World Snooker Championships has been ended by Matthew Selt on a 10-3 scoreline in Sheffield. The Cork man had battled to put himself in with a shot overnight, as he trailed 4-3 in their third round qualifier. Hill then won this afternoon's opening frame but that would be as good as it got. World number 35 Selt took control of the match, winning six frames on the spin with three breaks over 60 and he'll now face Joe O'Connor for a place at the Crucible.

Cork City's next two home games have been reversed due to the ongoing pitch maintenance at Turner's Cross. The Munster Football Association rendered the venue closed last week after high usage by various teams at amateur and League of Ireland level, as well as poor weather, caused damage to the pitch.

Hugo Keenan will miss out on Leinster's trip to South Africa through injury, the province have confirmed. Leo Cullen’s squad leave on Tuesday for a double-header of BKT URC games against the Lions and the Stormers. Ireland full-back Keenan was named to start in Saturday’s Champions Cup win over La Rochelle but was replaced by Ciarán Frawley before kick-off. "Hugo has been managing a hip injury the last few weeks which had a minor flare up in the captain’s run last week," said the club.
Everton lodge appeal over latest points deduction

Everton have formally lodged an appeal against the two-point penalty imposed on the club earlier this month for breaching Premier League financial rules. The Toffees indicated their intention to appeal last Monday, the same day the sanction was announced. It is understood0 that appeal has now been lodged. The club admitted breaching the Premier League's profitability and sustainability rules (PSR) for permitted losses by £16.6million for the assessment period ending with the 2022-23 season.
