The case study of COVID-19* is ideal for students to learn why and how the pandemic exposed a multitude of injustices. Every K-12 student can relate to the challenges the pandemic forced on families, cities, and countries. Students from all backgrounds bring their experiences, cultivating empathy and understanding for minoritized groups that were disproportionately affected. Our team developed prototype lessons building on the COVID-19 pandemic as an example of societal challenges.
