The leaseholders of the Northern Territory's historic Wave Hill Station have been convicted and fined $250,000 for damaging one of Australia's most significant landmarks for Aboriginal land rights. Wave Hill Station was the site of a 1966 walk-off by Gurindji stockmen protesting the harsh working conditions and meagre rations that were given to Aboriginal workers at the time.

Matt Wright’s lawyers are seeking access to NT Police documents including a surveillance warrant and notebook belonging to a police detective ahead of Mr Wright’s trial. Mr Wright is facing one count of attempting to pervert the course of justice, and has previously indicated he intends to plead not guilty. Mr Wright is set to stand trial in the Northern Territory Supreme Court in July.

A Darwin prisoner serving an indefinite sentence due to severe mental illness is having his progress "stymied to the extreme" due to lockdowns and staffing issues, his lawyer has told the Supreme Court. His barrister Beth Wild said the closure of a Secure Care Facility in Alice Springs in 2023 that had previously housed the man was "an absolute travesty".

NT Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro labelled a decision to release a teenager on bail after an alleged home invasion an "outrage" and an "epic fail" while also claiming the boy had "beat a two-month-old baby". In a rare public statement, NT Chief Justice Michael Grant said the 17-year-old was not in fact accused of harming the child during the break-in in Alice Springs in December. The chief minister is scheduled to meet with the chief justice on Thursday.
