1 INTRODUCTION Having a base level of education is well recognized in high-income societies as a crucial factor for future vocational success (OECD, 2021). In general, completion of high school or equivalent constitutes this baseline, with further education generally leading to more opportunity in job choice, less likelihood of unemployment, and higher annual and lifetime income (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2021).
