In the days following the re-election of Donald Trump in the US, the S&P 500 hit its 50th record high this year alone, having climbed more than 26% since the start of January. While the ASX hasn’t quite shown the same strength, it too hit a record of 8384.50 in mid-October after rising more than 8% this year. Even Europe’s Stoxx 600 index hit a record of 528.08 at the end of September.
