With Temple preparing to announce a new president this spring, the Presidential Search Advisory Committee has spent the past months evaluating and interviewing candidates. The candidate pool has been narrowed down to a “very small group of highly qualified individuals,” the committee announced, in an April 8 message to the community.

In February 2020, my family and I arrived on Main Campus for Experience Temple Day, an event to help admitted students learn more about the university and their major. I was admitted to the journalism program and was eager to see what Klein College of Media and Communication had to offer. I sat in the basement of Annenberg Hall and listened to Larry Stains, the assistant chair of the journalism department, explain all the student media opportunities at Temple.

As Temple’s Center City Campus celebrates its 50th anniversary this spring, the site continues to offer an accessible location for students in Philadelphia to work toward their degrees. The building has historically been valued as a satellite location for adult learners and people who work in or commute to Center City using public transportation.

This story is developing. Check back for updates. The Temple community received multiple TUalerts for shots fired as incidents broke out on and around Main Campus Saturday night. At 5:24 p.m., the Department of Public Safety advised students to avoid the area of Broad Street near Cecil B. Moore Avenue due to a large group of juveniles. The university said police had arrived at the scene.
