The company confirmed this represents the most successful launch in its history, which spans more than three decades. Atomfall is a survival game set in an alternate version of 1950s rural England, following a fictional nuclear incident inspired by the real-world Windscale event.

    OpenAI has now released its integrated image creation ability to ChatGPT for everyone in general, including free users of the platform. The feature, which allows users to create images in the chat window with OpenAI's DALL-E, was previously available only to Plus, Pro, and Team subscribers. The expansion to free users occurred over the weekend, following an initial delay announced by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.

    OpenAI has secured $40 billion in new funding, the largest private fundraising round for a tech company ever. The fundraising, which was led by Japan's SoftBank Group, values OpenAI at $300 billion. SoftBank is contributing the lion's share, cited as 75% in one report and $7.5 billion of an initial $10 billion investment in another. Other investors in the round include Microsoft, Coatue Management, Altimeter Capital and Thrive Capital.

    8BitDo makes interesting game controllers that many people know about. Today, the company unveiled a new version of its Ultimate 3-mode controller, called the Jade Edition. This new model joins the existing black and white color options for the controller series. The Jade controller features a translucent green housing with a design inspired by a special edition of the original Microsoft Xbox console. It is also officially licensed by Xbox.

    HP is entering the do-it-yourself (DIY) PC components market, launching a new series of products under its Omen gaming brand. Formerly known for its pre-built Omen desktops and gaming laptops, HP is now giving PC builders more flexibility by selling individual parts compatible with non-Omen systems. HP's first batch of Omen components includes a couple of cooling products and a power supply (PSU). For cooling, HP is introducing a single 120mm fan with RGB and a three-pack of 120mm modular RGB fans.
