    Israel said it killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, the architect of the Palestinian group’s attack on southern Israel that triggered a year-long war in Gaza. Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz said Sinwar was killed by the Israel Defense Forces without providing details on how it happened. Sinwar has been Hamas’s most senior leader following the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran in July.

    Negotiations for a proposed cease-fire between Israel and Hamas will continue in Cairo after a “constructive” round of talks this week in Doha, international mediators said in a joint statementBloomberg Terminal. Talks will resume in the Egyptian capital before the end of next week after mediators Egypt and Qatar along with the US made a proposal to bridge the remaining gaps between the warring sides, according to the statement carried by Egypt’s presidency on Facebook.

    (Bloomberg) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he’s seeking support for his ruling party one last time ahead of this month’s municipal vote, indicating that he won’t run for reelection when his term comes to an end in 2028. Friday’s address to a group of supporters in Istanbul marked the clearest announcement yet by Erdogan on his political future after having ruled Turkey for more than two decades, first as prime minister and later as head of state.
