DURRELL will ban the killing of deer for sport at its Dalnacardoch Estate in Scotland at the end of the current hunting season in 2026, the JEP has learned. A GRIEVING mother has raised nearly £2,000 to fund a private ADHD assessment for an Islander following the death of her son earlier this year. Carolyn Connor said that her son Michael, who died in early 2025, had life-long mental health issues since early childhood that went unrecognised by the authorities. Ms Connor started a JustGiving page ahead of her son’s funeral, which takes place on Wednesday, and has asked that well-wishers and people who knew him donate to it rather than buying flowers.

JERSEY Opera House has announced that Andy Eagle will stand down as interim director of the theatre just four weeks before it was due to open following a multi-million pound restoration project. The surprise announcement from the board of the Jersey Opera House on Tuesday came amid an ongoing spat with the government over technical upgrades that were not included in the five-year £12.7 million refurbishment project but which Mr Eagle said were desperately needed.
