After three trips to the state semifinal round, Andrews (35-8) broke through this year and will play Corpus Christi Calallen (33-6) in the title game at 1 p.m. Friday at Red & Charline McCombs Field on the University of Texas at Austin campus.

    Andrews’ Mark Burgen has been named Class 4A Region 4 Golf Coach of the Year by the Texas High School Coaches Association. Burgen led the Andrews girls golf team to their third straight Class 4A state title and the 20th state title in program history this past spring. Article continues below this adThe Lady Mustangs won the state tournament by 32 strokes with a 314-319—633 total.  Burgen, who was the only golf coach honored out of Region 4, has led Andrews to 12 state golf titles.
