I have two kids: a son and a daughter. They’re 13 years apart. One is an adult, lives in Chicago and owns his own digital marketing firm. The other is a college student and volleyball player. I’ll likely write about her more since she’s the one who lives with me when not at college, and she’s the one who’s always in my pockets. I mean always. Right now, I’m adjusting to her traveling long distances without adults in the vehicle. I worry. It’s not that I worry about her driving.

(MIRROR INDY) — Let me start by saying, I love “A Christmas Story.” It is a Christmas classic. I try to watch it multiple times during the holiday season. Today’s the day. Mirror Indy is officially six months old. Happy half-birthday to us! Thank you for being a part of our success and explosive growth over the last six months — and a special shout out to those of you who have already contributed to our half-birthday campaign. I’ve been blown away by the response. I can also promise it’s the last time we’ll be asking for half-birthday gifts. Can you believe we’ve been at this for 183 days already?

“Your vote counts.”“If you don’t vote, you can’t complain.”“Your vote matters.”“Your ancestors shed their blood, sweat and tears, some even died for your right to vote. You honor them by voting.”I’ve heard those words in one form or another throughout my lifetime. I’ve repeated those words time and again to those who tell me they don’t vote. I was raised to believe voting is your civic duty and it’s how you effect change.
