The 25-year-old has already gained a strong momentum early on in her career, and I was lucky enough to have her and her band stop by to play some songs. Then we took a seat in the LPM music library and discussed her musical journey and philosophies on life.

Lacey Guthrie released her newest album Flower Eating Monster at the end of last year, and she recently sat down to talk about the Louisville music community, her influences, and what’s coming up for her music. She highlighted the diverse and rich elements of the music scene here in Louisville, and having just participated in the Rock Lottery, she had lots of first hand examples of what the artists here are truly capable of.

My Morning Jacket recently announced their upcoming album is, out March 21, and drummer Patrick Hallahan hopped on the phone with Otis Junior for a big announcement. He revealed that the band will be promoting the new album on a tour that kicks off this April. To make the news even more exciting, he shared that the tour includes a 3-night run at the Louisville Palace.

The EP marks the final chapter in a series of releases that reflect on growth, self-discovery, and love as a collective experience. Outside of music, Mon Rovîa finds inspiration in silence, poetry, and books—especially the works of James Baldwin and Amiri Baraka.

Ahead of the show at Zanzabar last week, Michigander's Jason Singer joined stopped by WFPK to chat about his upcoming self-titled debut album, out February 7, and his creative journey so far. “It felt like the right time,” he shared about making the leap to a full-length album. After 10 years as Michigander, he wrote 40-50 songs and whittled them down to 12 that finally felt worthy of release.
