The New Year—2025 has begun with the deficit precipitation as Jammu and Kashmir has recorded a deficiency of 59 per cent in the first week of January. According to the details available, from January 01 to January 08, J&K has recorded a deficit rainfall of 59 per cent despite the recent snowfall in most parts of the Valley. Director MeT Kashmir, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said, “The all-time highest maximum temperature in Srinagar for July is 38.3 degrees Celsius, recorded on July 10, 1946, followed by 37 degrees Celsius on July 9, 1999.
