    Boston University had a roller-coaster of a season last year, peaking with a victory over Army, which was then the top-ranked team in the country. BU would vanquish Army again in the Patriot League semifinals, 11-10 in overtime, before ultimately falling to Lehigh in the championship game by the same score. As a result, the Terriers were unable to punch their ticket to the NCAA tournament.

    The 2024 season for UMass got off to a pretty promising start. Following a one-goal loss to Army, the Minutemen crafted a four-game win streak that included a victory over rival UMass Lowell. UMass eventually ended its season on a three-game losing streak, culminating with a first-round defeat at the hands of Saint Joseph's in the Atlantic 10 tournament.

    BC High's senior class in 2023 was a star-studded one that led the team to the MIAA Division 1 final and produced numerous college players. After graduating all the top-notch talent, the Eagles went into 2024 fielding a more inexperienced team. Despite the inherent negatives arising from fielding a young roster, some positives came out of it. A lot of young players got a learn-on-the-job type of season, letting them come out stronger on the other side.

    Sometimes the term “glue guy” can be viewed in a patronizing light, but when you cause a turnover on defense, run through everyone on a clear and then tag a corner to finish the possession, that's the ultimate glue guy. And that is what Tripp Schuhwerk (Hingham, Mass.) provides and the type of spark he’ll be looking to give Rutgers in two seasons. Schuhwerk was predominantly a D-middie for BC High (Mass.) during his freshman season.

    You can tell Emmett Goodrich is a Winchester kid by how he plays the game: mean, physical and relentless. Goodrich (Winchester, Mass.) is a player whose checks and hits are sure to have opponents reaching for ice the next morning. After spending some time at Winchester High School, Goodrich transferred to Middlesex School in the Independent School League, where he took his game -- and physical Winchester play-style -- to the next level.
