Peter Dutton will pledge to better prepare Australia for future geo-strategic threats by spending an additional $21 billion on the military between now and 2030, which would be almost double Labor's planned increase to the defence budget.Under the Coalition's plan overall defence spending will rise to 2.5 per cent of gross domestic product (GDP) over the next five years, from the current level of 2 per cent.
