アメリカのトランプ大統領が、カタール王室から4億ドル（約583億円）相当の豪華なジャンボジェット機、ボーイング747-8を贈り物として受け取る予定であることがわかった。この贈呈計画の関係者の話としてABCが報じた。 トランプ氏は5月に中東の複数の国を訪問する予定で、ジャンボジェット機の贈呈はカタールを訪れた際に発表される予定だという。 このジャンボジェット機は、最初にアメリカ空軍に引き渡されて必要な軍事改修を施した後、新しい大統領専用機として使用する計画だと報じられている。 また、トランプ氏の大統領任期が終了した後には、トランプ大統領図書館財団に引き渡されることになっているという。 アメリカ合衆国憲法は、連邦政府当局者が議会の承認を得ずに、外国政府から贈り物を受け取ることを禁じている。 しかしボンディ司法長官は「航空機は個人ではなく空軍への贈与であるため、憲法違反にはあたらない」との見解を示しているという。 一方、カタール政府の関係者はこの計画について「まだ協議中である」にコメントしている。...
