The Snyderville Basin Cemetery District is scheduled to give a presentation Thursday to the Snyderville Basin Special Recreation District on a proposal to create burial grounds on about 10 acres of open space within the Utah Olympic Park. The plan requires amending deed restrictions that allow a cemetery on the site but also prohibit division of the UOP land, which Summit County acquired in 2008 from the Boyer Company.

Park City Municipal staff members will present a report Thursday to the City Council on the feasibility of building a new senior center on the Mawhinney parking lot and an adjacent lot. The report includes the findings of a parking needs study, environmental soils testing and a geotechnical investigation. The current Park City Senior Center, 1361 Woodside Ave., has outgrown its 3,200-square-foot space, with a membership of about 625 people.

The Summit County Service Area No. 3 Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing on May 20 on a proposed water rate and fee schedule for Silver Creek Estates. The hearing comes after a year of study and debate over a schedule approved in April 2024 that included a 25 cent fee for every gallon of water exceeding a lot’s allocation. The charge was based on data showing an increase in excessive usage, a staff report says.

SALT LAKE CITY, April 15 (UPI) -- When Kelly Clayton was looking for a franchise to purchase in 2019, Nothing Bundt Cakes caught his eye because the company allowed the bakeries to be closed on Sundays. That option sealed the deal for the Utah man and his family. "We would not have purchased the franchise if we would have had to be open on Sunday," said Clayton, who is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, formerly known as the Mormon Church.
