This season, many fashion brands considered athleticism and the body in movement: sporty pieces were reimagined with unexpected styling at Miu Miu, or spruced up with dazzling fabrications, as seen at Dior and Tory Burch. Ferragamo showed elegant eveningwear styles inspired by the world of ballet, while Balenciaga proposed a new form of athleisure, complete with 3D-printed tube tops.

50 years ago, an American entrepreneur named Charlie Clifford started selling duffle bags and weekenders made in South America. The rustic bags, crafted from raw leather, appealed to travellers who needed something practical and durable that they could bring on their journeys. Clifford sold the bags through his brand called “Tumi”, a name he borrowed from a Peruvian ceremonial object that he had encountered as a former Peace Corps volunteer.

Not only do they know how to drive fast, but the members of Supercars Ladies Club (SLC) also know how to party hard. On 10 May, Singapore’s first all-women supercar club gathered for its annual gala, which was held in a ballroom at the Four Seasons Hotel. Guests were dressed for the occasion in black and pink, the latter being the SLC’s signature colour.

With the future of luxury fashion looking rocky, Gucci is, understandably, feeling nostalgic. The Italian fashion brand returned to the city of Florence, where it was founded 104 years ago, to present its Cruise 2026 collection. This is the second collection to be designed by Gucci’s in-house team, following the exit of former creative director Sabato De Sarno from the brand.
