One in every four girls in the United States miss school due to not having the necessary period products. The Tulsa Period Pantry said they want schools, programs, and young girls to know they don’t have to suffer because there are resources available.

    BARNSDALL, Okla. — May 6, 2025 marks one year since a deadly EF4 tornado hit the City of Barnsdall, just 45 minutes north of Tulsa. Two people were killed and several homes were destroyed. The morale of Barnsdall hasn’t gone down one bit despite the bittersweet memory. Those who are still there said they’ve been focusing on patience and keeping the love of the city alive. Barnsdall resident Jackie Miller has lived in Barnsdall for his whole life.

    COLLINSVILLE, Okla. — The City of Collinsville may be changing its fire department and emergency services due to a nearly $2 million budget deficit. While no decision was made at Monday night’s city meeting, the city manager gave some suggestions on how to cut back on costs. Depending on what the councilors choose, people could end up paying more for city services and some could lose their jobs. “We have been trying to address our deficit,” said City manager Chuck Ralls.

    BRISTOW, Okla. — Bristow's historic Chrysler Tower is getting an upgrade thanks to a $700,000 Route 66 grant. The goal that started five years ago is now coming to fruition for Linda Trigalet, a grant writer at the Bristow Historical Society. The grant Linda secured will use the $700,000 to renovate the Chrysler Tower and move it to a newly created plaza for everyone to enjoy. "We're really excited to land this grant," said Linda. "This is our third attempt in as many years.
