Centrum's Jazz Port Townsend is a week-long celebration of all things jazz. Held annually at the end of July, the festival brings musicians from across the country to Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend, Wash. The weeklong education workshop leads up to a three-day festival featuring performances by faculty members and workshop participants. The festival takes place in both clubs around town and on the main stage in the McCurdy Pavilion.

Vocalist, songwriter and guitarist Stephanie Anne Johnson took the stage earlier this month for a special event, part of our KNKX Connects to Tacoma series. Guitarist and producer Jeff Fielder joined Johnson on stage at the Blue Mouse Theatre, a historic venue in Tacoma's Proctor District celebrating its 100th year. After songs such as "Leave the Light On" and "Big Road Blues," KNKX All Blues host John Kessler interviewed the duo.

On an early Saturday morning, trucks crowded the street outside of Pike Place Market. Bucket by bucket, local farmers unloaded thousands of colorful flowers. Within half an hour, the Market was filled with a wide array of flowers from the Northwest including tulips, daffodils, irises and peonies. Every year Pike Place Market celebrates the flower farmers and booths that make the market so vibrant and colorful.
