    HOUSTON — There will be a slight increase in rain chances Wednesday afternoon. Don't expect anything severe but afternoon storms are possible. A rare July "cold" front will approach by the end of the week and stall across the area. As a result, rain chances and cloud cover will increase, dropping temperatures below normal as early as Thursday. By Thursday night and Friday, a front will approach from North Texas and stall north of our area.

    HOUSTON — The 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season was promised to be an active one, with Colorado State University and NOAA predicting well above normal numbers. In fact, the NOAA forecast for the season was the most aggressive forecast ever produced.  Several factors including record warm sea-surface temperatures and a transition to La Nina by late summer were the driving factors in these aggressive forecasts.

    HOUSTON — A powerful storm system from the Pacific will reach Texas by Monday, bringing rain, wind, and the chance for some strong to severe storms. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has already highlighted much of Southeast Texas for the potential to see severe weather. As of Saturday evening, the greatest threat exists from the City of Houston, areas south and towards the coast.
