    The first official practice for the 2025-26 Colorado men’s basketball team is in the books. And it was a shorthanded affair for a Buffaloes program intent on bouncing back from a last-place finish in the Big 12 Conference. CU held the first of the 10 practices allowed ahead of its exhibition tour of Australia on Monday without forward Bangot Dak, who is recovering from an injury. Dak will be sidelined throughout the summer, including the four-game trip through Australia that begins next month.

    With summer workouts underway and a summer exhibition tour of Australia coming up, the Colorado men’s basketball team also knows the roadmap for the upcoming season. On Wednesday, Colorado announced its nonconference schedule for the 2025-26 campaign, which begins with a Nov. 3 opening-night home date against Montana State. CU also opened the 2021-22 season at home against Montana State, with the Buffs surviving for an overtime win.

The Buffaloes’ four-game run of exhibition contests next month in Australia will include a July 31 matchup against the Australian Boomers, the country’s national team. Colorado is scheduled to visit Australia July 23 through August 5. For the Australian Boomers, the contest will provide a tune-up ahead of the FIBA Asia Cup.
