A population-based and repeated cross-sectional analysis was performed using data from the 72 waves (from 2005 to 2022) of Mexico’s National Occupation and Employment Survey (ENOE) (available at https://www.inegi.org.mx/programas/enoe/15ymas/). This survey implemented every trimester since 2005, is the primary source of standardised information on the Mexican labour market, occupation, labour informality, underemployment, and unemployment among the population aged 15 and over.
