NORTON – The Norton City Schools Board of Education approved a three-year contract for district treasurer Barbara Markland at its regular meeting March 17. Markland’s base annual salary will be $105,500 and the contract is effective April 1, 2025 through July 31, 2028. The board also approved a consulting contract for Markland for seven days from March 17 to March 31, 2025, at a per diem rate of $405.77 during her transition into the treasurer position.
