NORTON – The Norton City Schools Board of Education approved a three-year contract for district treasurer Barbara Markland at its regular meeting March 17. Markland’s base annual salary will be $105,500 and the contract is effective April 1, 2025 through July 31, 2028. The board also approved a consulting contract for Markland for seven days from March 17 to March 31, 2025, at a per diem rate of $405.77 during her transition into the treasurer position.

Norton City Schools Board renews superintendent’s contract

NORTON – During the regular meeting Feb. 18, the North City Schools Board of Education renewed the contract of Superintendent Bryan Farson for five years. The contract is effective Aug. 1, 2025 through July 31, 2030. Farson has been with the district as superintendent for three years. Before coming to Norton City Schools, he served as principal in the Medina City School District for 16 years. He started his career in education as a teacher in Maple Heights in 1998.
