Growing up, I struggled with anxiety and depression. I always seemed to be worried about something—getting good grades at school, how much my parents fought. But, when I was 23, I met my future husband, John, and I finally felt free. We got to know each other at the local TV station in his hometown of Thunder Bay, where he was working as a graphic artist and I was chasing my dream of becoming the next Dini Petty.

A new study published in PLOS ONE looked at personal resources to mitigate the dark side of digital working. “The study focused on the personal resources of mindfulness and digital confidence and ways in which these resources can help to reduce negative well-being impacts from working digitally,” study author Elizabeth Marash told us.
