KEARNS, Utah, Jan. 15, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — Unified firefighters are battling a 2-alarm fire which broke out in Kearns early Wednesday morning. According to a statement by the Unified Fire Authority, the fire involves a one-story L-shaped strip mall at 4703 West 5415 South. Crews were first dispatched to the fire about 3:43 a.m. When they arrived, they “found pallets on fire adjacent to a building, with flames spreading to the structure,” the UFA said.

SALT LAKE CITY, JAN. 10, 2O25 (Gephardt Daily) – The suspect wounded during a Salt Lake City officer-involved shooting early Thursday morning has died. According to a Friday night news release from SLCPD PR Unit, the suspect, identified as Chandler Grillone, 32, died in the hospital. “Based on the preliminary investigation, a SLCPD officer conducted a traffic stop at 1:41 a.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, near 375 South 765 West.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Jan. 9. 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — Police say an armed man who confronted a Salt Lake City police officer early Thursday morning is in critical condition after being shot by the officer. According to SLCPD news release, the officer was conducting a traffic stop at 1:41 a.m. near 375 South 765 West. “During the investigation, a man not involved in the traffic stop approached the officer on scene. That person, a 32-year-old man, had a weapon,” the news release said.
