LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - For the 11th year in a row, Sulphur will host the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Baseball Tournament. High School teams from across the state will compete at McMurry Park today through Saturday. We spoke with Eric Zartler, Sr. Vice President of Sports with Visit Lake Charles, to get the details. 28 teams from all over the state, some of which are local Lake Area teams, will be competing beginning at 8 a.m. today.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - A Louisiana state trooper is facing a domestic abuse charge after an incident that left his alleged victim hospitalized. Joshua A. Duhon, 43, resigned from Louisiana State Police Troop D on Wednesday, state officials said. Deputies received an anonymous report of domestic abuse on April 24, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kayla Vincent said. Deputies said an argument between Duhon and the victim led to the incident.

Letter carriers will be collecting non-perishable food donations on Saturday, May 10, that will be sent directly to local food pantries. Duhon, 43, resigned from Louisiana State Police Troop D on Wednesday, state officials said. Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kayla Vincent says deputies received an anonymous report of a domestic abuse incident on April 24. Deputies learned of an argument between Duhon and the victim that led to the incident.
