The Wildwood High School baseball team scored six second-inning runs en route to a 9-7 victory over Pleasantville in a nonconference game Friday. Brian Cunniff pitched a complete game, striking out four and allowing seven hits for the Warriors (3-5). He also singled, scored and drove in one. Trevor Troiano doubled, scored two and drove in one. Broc Denke doubled, tripled, scored a run and drove in one. Ryan Gilligan drew two walks and scored two in the win.

HAMMONTON — Kole Bagnell struggled at the plate to start the season. The Hammonton High School baseball senior had just three hits in his first 17 at-bats in the Blue Devils' first eight games. However, the script flipped to close out this week. Bagnell went 4 for 4, drove in five runs and scored one to lead Hammonton to an 11-1 victory over Oakcrest in a Cape-Atlantic League interdivision game Friday. The Blue Devils improved to 6-3, the Falcons fell to 1-8.

Trevor Troiano pitched a five-hit complete game to lead the Wildwood High School baseball team to a 3-2 victory over Buena Regional in a nonconference game Thursday. Troiano struck out three in the win. He also singled, doubled and scored a run. Michael McWade and Gianni Troiano each singled and drove in a run for the Warriors (2-5). Daniel Benichou and Brian Cunniff each scored. Ben Cohen hit two singles for Buena (5-6). Aden Vai and Johnny Morales each walked and scored.

Brooke Douglas went 3 for 4, including a home run, drove in five runs and scored two to lead the Ocean City High School softball team to an 11-6 victory over Cedar Creek in a Cape-Atlantic League interdivision game Thursday. Douglas also struck out 10 in 3 2/3 innings. Jessica Mooney struck out five and did not allow a hit in 3 1/3 scoreless innings. Mooney also singled and scored two in the win. Carly Hennis and Carlee Hiddeman each hit two singles, drove in one and scored for Ocean City (7-4).
