I came into this world just 14 days after FDR, who is thought to be in the top tier of all who held that office, was first inaugurated as president. But now it’s possible I may exit this same world in the midst of one of the worst holders of that same office. I could muse that I’m happy to be on the short end of the stick with the thought of him at the helm. That would be OK if I hadn’t grandchildren whose future will be affected by how this chief of state governs in the next four years.
