On a breezy Brookline afternoon, the Northeastern Huskies closed the book on this weekend’s series against Harvard with an 8-4 win, led by solid showings from the top of the lineup and some hard-fought pitching performances throughout the game. Toeing the rubber for Northeastern on Sunday was graduate southpaw Jordan Gottesman, who’d put up some strong starts for the Huskies in the first few weeks of the season, and on Sunday, he was nothing but dominant.

Coming off of a 1-1 series split at Charlotte, Northeastern traveled down to Fort Myers, Florida for the twenty-first annual exhibition game against the Boston Red Sox to kick off the big league club’s spring training. Though the Red Sox showed some struggles in the start of the seven inning game, they quickly shook the rust off and kept the Huskies’ offense at bay, quieting the bats as they put up five runs to the Huskies’ two. BROOKLINE — Northeastern came into the rubber match of the series against UNCW looking for a win, after opening the series with a brutal loss Friday and getting into the win column Saturday with a comeback led by a three-homer performance by graduate student Alex Lane. However, cold bats and sloppy defense from the Huskies throughout Sunday’s game left them coming up short in a 5-3 loss, with the offense being shut down by a seven-inning start by UNCW junior righty Zane Taylor.
