Archer Hotel Capital sources €567m refinancing package from Aareal Bank

Aareal Bank has closed a €567 million, cross-collateralised pan-European facility to refinance a portfolio of seven hotels in four different European countries for Archer Hotel Capital. Archer Hotel Capital is the joint investment vehicle of Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC and APG, a subsidiary of Stichting Pensioenfonds ABP, the Dutch pension fund. Over the years, Aareal Bank has financed various assets for Archer through multiple facilities.
KKR and Baupost seal purchase of 33 Marriott hotels

KKR and The Baupost Group have purchased a portfolio of 33 Marriott hotels across the UK from the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). Amante Capital, KKR’s vertically integrated European hospitality platform, will serve as managing partner for the joint venture and the properties will continue as premium Marriott branded hotels.
Blackstone buys two more Greek hotels

A couple of days after completing a deal to buy the Grand Hyatt in Athens, Blackstone has also revealed two previously unannounced Greek hotel acquisitions. The two properties acquired are: the Sunprime Miramare Beach in Rhodes and the Alexander The Great Beach Hotel in Halkidiki. The hotels will be managed by Hotel Investment Partners (HIP), which is majority owned by Blackstone with Singapore’s GIC having a 35 per cent stake.

CapitaLand buys initial 40 per cent stake in SC Capital Partners

CapitaLand Investment Limited (CLI) has agreed to buy an initial 40 per cent stake in SC Capital Partners Group (SCCP) for $214 million (S$280 million). The remaining stake in SCCP will be acquired in phases over the next five years. As part of the partnership, CLI will also invest a minimum of $400 million strategic capital in SCCP’s fund strategies to support the growth of the platform.
Corum Asset Management buys Milan airport hotel

Corum Asset Management has bought the newly built Tribe Milan Malpensa hotel from Foruminvest for an undisclosed amount. The Tribe hotel, with its 240 rooms, is located next to the international terminal of Malpensa Airport (Milan) and is fully leased to Amapa Group for an initial term of 30 years.
