NEW YORK —A lawsuit was filed in federal court here today seeking to restore the Voice of America. My successor as VOA’s White House bureau chief, Patsy Widakuswara, who grew up under a dictatorship in Indonesia, is the lead plaintiff. Some of the other plaintiffs, who for now are anonymous, are among nearly 50 VOA journalists whose J-1 visas are being cancelled and must leave the country within 30 days.
