By PAUL ANDERSONSANTA ANA — A 36-year-old man was convicted Wednesday of human trafficking of a 17-year-old runaway and pandering two other women in Orange County. Xavier Dashea Washington was convicted of human trafficking of a minor, one count of pandering a minor older than 16, two counts of pandering, a count of attempting to prevent a victim from prosecuting, all felonies, and a misdemeanor count of contempt of court for disobeying a court order.

Space Quasars are intensely bright objects in the centers of distant young galaxies. Supermassive black holes power them. Despite being billions of light-years away, their blinding light obscures other details when viewed in telescopes. NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope has now taken the closest look yet at a quasar. It is one of the closest quasars, at 2.5 billion light-years from Earth. The new images reveal ‘weird things’ such as blobs and filaments near the quasar.

The husband of the woman killed in a robbery at Fashion Island told police that he tried to warn the suspects they might run over his wife before they did just that as they fled, a police officer testified Wednesday in the preliminary hearing of the three defendants. Rookie Officer Daniel Soliz, who was just on the job for about a couple of months, was dispatched to the raucous scene of the robbery in Newport Beach July 2 along with his field training officer.
