Billed as the nation’s “vacation destination inline marathon,” the Apostle Islands Inline Marathon is part of the Rollerblade Inline Skate Series.

    In what many Bay-Area sports fans may consider the coup of the year, Drummond senior multisport standout Kyla Hanson has officially signed to play basketball and volleyball with the Gogebic Community College Samsons womens programs. Hanson is one of the best point guards the Northern Lights Conference has produced in recent memory, and was an all-conference volleyball player as well. She will compete in both sports at GCC, while also bringing academic chops as valedictorian of her senior class.

    It was again the Gage Mika show at the Osceola Invitational on April 29 when the junior pole vaulter, who qualified for WIAA D2 state last year, broke his own school record by clearing a height of 14-6 to take first in the highly competitive eight team field. Mika has turned his game up a notch since moving into the outdoor season and, with several meets to go before the Rhinelander regionals on May 27, look for Mika to push to clear the 15-foot barrier.
