Back in September 2023, I reviewed the Z Grills Flagship 700D3. This workhorse pellet grill and smoker has been fantastic to cook with. Just last week, I smoked some delicious baby back ribs for the family. Eventually, no matter how good your smoker is, you’re probably going to want to upgrade: Z Grills continues to constantly innovate and release new grills, as well as update their older models. And so, Z Grills has also innovated with how you purchase grills. Enter the Z Grills Reward Crowdfunding.

As you might guess from the Roman numerals, this is Dungeons & Laser’s seventh crowdfunding campaign for their line of roleplaying miniatures and terrain. I reviewed their sixth campaign, Caves, last fall, which featured three different themes of modular cavernous terrain. The rewards from that campaign are about to begin fulfilling to backers. What Is Porthaven? Porthaven is the seventh miniatures campaign from Poland-based Archon Studio.

Last weekend was GameStorm 25*, a small local gaming con in Portland, Oregon. I’ve been attending for many years now (you can see some of my recaps from 2015 and 2017), bringing a selection of prototypes and favorite games to share with people, and it is always one of the highlights of my year. GameStorm is primarily a gaming convention—most of the space is given to tables to sit and play games, with a small ballroom set up as as Dealer’s Hall for vendors.

It’s a shiny retro future, and mankind is putting colonies on the moon. I’m sure it will all run smoothly, without any accidents or glitchy robots to contend with…What Is Moon Colony Bloodbath? Moon Colony Bloodbath is an engine-building tableau game for 1-5 players, ages 12 and up, and takes about 45 minutes to play. Even though there’s the word “bloodbath” in the title, all of the violence is blood-free and humorous, making this a game that is still suitable for the family.

With Game Theory Tables’ Crafted for Connections Kickstarter campaign well under way, I thought it was time to take a look at one of the newer tables on offer this year. Just last week, an update they posted revealed that the Origins 2.0 LIT had become available as one of the table choices you could pledge for in the campaign. And wouldn’t you know it, but that’s exactly the table that recently arrived at my door.
