Every day 10,000 baby boomers turn 65, according to U.S. Census data. The baby boomer generation began turning 65 in 2011 and will continue to add 10,000 each day through 2030. The number of older adults will more than double over the next several decades to top 88 million people and represent over 20 percent of the population by 2050, according to a 2019 report from AARP.
