Why aren’t we taking climate change more seriously? For example, the good folks living in the small town of Fairbourne, Wales have a problem. Those who want to sell their homes to buyers looking for 30-year mortgages can’t. You see, the risk management executives at local banks are not giving out 30-year mortgages because they have determined that the town of Fairbourne will not exist in 30 years. It will be underwater. Why should we care? Wales is part of a low-lying island far away.
