    Matt Molloy is a true legend of Irish music and has been member of some of the most influential bands in traditional music, including The Bothy Band, Planxty and The Chieftains. His three solo albums, as well as his trio recording with Tommy Peoples and Paul Brady in the late 70’s brought flute playing to a new level. Born in London but living in Boyle for over 25 years, John Carty has established himself among the elite of Irish traditional musicians.

    On Friday, 9 May 2025, Tara Breen, Pádraig Rynne, and Jim Murray will perform at Stiúideo Cuan in An Spidéal, Galway, from 8 pm to 10 pm as part of the Féasta Ceoil an Spidéil ‘25 series. Tara Breen, a fiddler with numerous All Ireland titles, has worked with The Chieftains and Stockton’s Wing, while Pádraig Rynne is known for his work with bands such as NOTIFY and Guidewires. Jim Murray is a respected guitarist, having performed with artists like Sharon Shannon and Sinead O’Connor.

    LEADING BRETON folk and traditional musicians Ampouailh and Charlie Le Brun will play Monroe’s Live in May as part of Brittany Fest Galway 2025. The concert takes place on Friday 16th May at 8pm and will give Galway a taste of the traditional Breton Fest Noz “night party” music event. This promises to be a highlight of the Festival which is celebrating 50 years of the Galway-Lorient Town Twinning.
