Goalkeeper Ross Munro feels 18 months away from the Highlands has helped him improve as he steps in as Caley Thistle’s expected new number one. The 25-year-old was snapped up by the League One side last week, hot on the heels of Logan Ross joining the club to fill an area of priority after Musa Dibaga’s departure. Munro and Ross came through the ranks at Ross County, with the former making the move to Dundalk in January 2024 where he played 20 times for the League of Ireland side.

This summer, he was confirmed as the permanent replacement for Ross Tokely after first-team coach Brian Macleod stood in as the interim boss for the closing part of last season.

Liam Boyce reckons Gary Mackay-Steven’s trickery can help Ross County shoot straight back to the top-flight. The former Staggies striker, who scored 55 goals in 115 games between 2014-2017, is now with League of Ireland Premier Division side Derry City. He switched from Premiership Hearts in January but keeps a close eye on his past clubs, including County, who were relegated by Livingston in the play-off final.
