    A stomach-turning scene reminiscent of a horror movie saw turkey remnants sprawled across four lanes of Highway 7/8 (Ontario Street) on Wednesday afternoon. Stratford FD said they received a call at 4:33 p.m. and arrived to find turkey remnants and fluids all over the road. Chief Neil Anderson told MyStratfordNow a large tandem tractor trailer was hauling turkey remnants to a rendering plant, east bound, and was cut off by another vehicle.

Failure to wear a seatbelt caused or was a contributing factor in the deaths of 60 people involved in collisions on OPP-patrolled roads last year. This Easter long weekend, police are conducting a seatbelt safety campaign. Officers will be checking vehicles on the roads, ensuring drivers and passengers are wearing their seatbelts.

    St. Marys Lincolns hung on to win Game 7 of their GOJHL semifinal series on Tuesday night, edging London Nationals 3-2. Ryan Hodkinson scored twice and Jaden Lee scored the game winner for the Lincolns. Ty Moffat scored for the Nationals and Denis Beley-Camara made it a one-goal lead with his third period marker, but the Lincolns held on to win the series. St. Marys moves to play the Chatham Maroons in the Western Conference final series. Chatham beat the Stratford Warriors in their semifinal.
