A bad day at the office for St Ives as Northampton Casuals showed how to take your opportunities, writes Paul Cox. The game got off to the worst of starts as the kick-off drifted into touch, according to the touch judge. From the scrum restart, Casuals pushed the ball to the left wing for the simplest of scores. If that wasn't bad enough, an Ives high tackle from the restart and Casuals repeated the move for their second score and Ives were 14 points down after five minutes.

The club had undertaken the challenge of participating in the SOHK Charity’s six-hour game of touch rugby. Exactly what it says on the tin - a six-hour sponsored game of tough rugby – rolling subs allowed. The sun, so long missing from our summer, decided to bless the event beaming down on all in attendance.
