A public hearing was held April 17, during which Finance Director Dana Aschenbrenner provided highlights of the budget. The budget includes $121.4 million in expected revenues.

WELLMANKale Miller started Mid-Prairie’s goal-scoring party in the seventh minute. Fighting off a Monticello defender, Miller booted the ball into the net as he went down. The goal started the Golden Hawks toward a 3-0 win last Monday, their first of the season and their first shutout win since blanking Sigourney Keota in the first round of the 2024 1A tournament. Mid-Prairie added two more goals in the second half and finish off the victory.

WELLMANFollowing an 0-2-1 season start, Mid-Prairie’s girls soccer team is on a roll. Brooklyn Schneider scored the first three goals of her high school career Monday and the Golden Hawks drilled Monticello 6-1 for their third consecutive win. Mid-Prairie has outscored three opponents 16-2 in the last week. The Golden Hawks (3-2-1) go after their fourth straight win Thursday at Cedar Valley Christian (1-1), then return home next Monday to face West Branch in Wellman.
